What is P4SY?
The bespoke programme supports early stage precision medicine companies in their technology development, regulation, investment and market adoption in UK and international markets.
The 6-month programme benefits South Yorkshire medtech startups and entrepreneurs by helping to navigate the complex landscape and infrastructure of the medtech innovation ecosystem – comprising health and care systems (NHS and private sector), academia, and business – to identify, in the South Yorkshire region, the right partners at the right time in the technology development pathway and support business scale-up to the next milestones.
Our communications platforms raise the profiles of new businesses to a wider audience of investors, innovation support networks and customer segments.
Who should apply?
✔️ Precision medicine companies seeking to scale up to next stage of growth
✔️ Technology solutions in the 4 Ps: Predictive, Preventive, Personalised, Participatory
✔️ Be early- to mid-stage medical device, diagnostic, or digital health companies
✔️Not yet closed a Series B
✔️ Data-driven / use of AI
✔️ Able to demonstrate their route to market with a time-frame of 12 – 18 months
✔️ Have already received seed/grant funding
✔️ Show team credibility (at least 3 members with complimentary and relevant expertise)
✔️ Registered address in South Yorkshire or intention to locate / scale up in South Yorkshire as the gateway to the North

What will we cover?
Support is tailored for each company based on initial scoping conversations to identify gaps in current knowledge, resources or networks and to understand next-stage strategic activity required for scale.
The cohort has benefited to date from introductions to investors, developing partnerships for collaboration in grant applications, product development and evaluations; understanding regulatory requirements; engagement with customer segments for growth alongside peer-learning and knowledge exchange from the wider P4SY cohort and mentors.
Delivery & Format
The programme is delivered using a hybrid model of in-person and online events for the P4SY cohort (including an investor demo day), alongside 1:1 scoping sessions, mentor sessions, and facilitated introductions for each company participating in the programme.
The programme has a dedicated online community of practice for the P4SY companies to utilise for shared learning.
