What is IndieLab SY Games Accelerator?
Indielab South Yorks Games Accelerator delivers high-level briefings from top industry leaders, major studios, investors, publishers and decision-makers from across the sector, giving your business and your games an edge in today’s ever more competitive environment, and positioning your company as one to watch.
Working with leaders, major studios and organisations across the sector, we bring you a growth programme to accelerate your potential as a studio/games technology business and as emerging talent in the sector.
Each company accepted onto the Games Developer Accelerator and Games Tech Accelerator will be allocated two places at all of our bespoke masterclasses, events and workshops in the critical areas you need to fast-track your business.
Who should apply?
Specifically:
- Applicant companies’ should develop their own games, or their core activity should be to develop technology to support or service the games sector.
- Applicant companies should be post-revenue. Please note there are a limited number of places available for start-ups.
- Applicant companies must have a trading office in the South Yorkshire region (the metropolitan boroughs of Sheffield, Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham), and be able to demonstrate this.
Application Criteria
Across the programme we are looking for diversity of voice, insight and experience. We encourage applications from all sectors of the community including company founders with the following backgrounds: Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic (BAME); disabled and neurodiverse people; companies founded by women.

Indielab is looking for South Yorkshire’s innovative, up-and-coming games developers and games tech providers to take part in the programme, commencing in October 2022. The Games Accelerators are fully funded, so there is no cost to attend.

Delivery & Format
The programme will be delivered virtually, taking advantage of Indielab Connect, our bespoke networking platform and app. In-person community meet-ups will also take place in a central location in Sheffield.
The South Yorks Games Developer and Games Tech Accelerators will run from October to November 2022.
